Lymphatic System
The lymphatic System is the immune system of the body that plays an important part in the body’s defence against diseases.
It works as the defense mechanism of the body.
COMPONENTS OF LYMPHATIC SYSTEM :
The lymph nodes, Tonsils, Adenoids, Lymph Vessels
Spleen, Thymus Gland.
The Lymph nodes:
They are the filtering and storage areas of the system and they are scattered along the routes of the lymphatics.
Tonsils:
They are two pairs of lymphoid tissue at the back of the mouth on either side of pharynx and at base of tongue. They help guard against inhaled microbes.
Adenoids:
They are also called as pharyngeal tonsils: situated in rear of nasal cavity: they help to fikter incoming air and destroy microorganisms.
Lymph Vessels:
They are the channels through which the lymph fluid is circulated in the whole body.
Spleen:
It’s the largest lymph organ which acts as store for some types of lymphocytes and as a major site for filtering blood.
This immune system incorporates the complete lymphatic flow as the main system by the means of which the body is protected from different invasions.
